Chapter 576: Chapter 473, Bullet Factory Chapter 576: Chapter 473, Bullet Factory Philippa panted heavily, struggling to express herself.
But her words were still somewhat jumbled.
“Don’t rush, take it slow,” Wu Heng said.
Philippa took a deep breath, sat down on the sofa, “Mini, pour me a glass of water.”
“Pour it yourself,” Mini didn’t even look back.
With a wave of Wu Heng’s hand, the kettle floated up, pouring a glass of water in front of ‘Philippa’.
Philippa blew on it, found it not too hot, and drank it all in one go before saying, “Last night, this woman went to the tavern, she wanted to kill me, then another baldy rushed in, saying you had gone out to sea, and wanted to go out and kill you.”
Wu Heng raised his eyebrows, the two women beside him also looked over with a touch of surprise.
So, they had even found their way to the Conch Tavern?
And they wanted to kill Philippa too.
“Then what?” Wu Heng furrowed his brow and asked.
Philippa continued, “Then I fainted, and as soon as I woke up today, I ran to find you.”
Wu Heng listened, yet he was still quite surprised inside.
The time Philippa mentioned was not much different from when he went out to sea.
That meant the witch’s original plan was to kill Philippa, but because he was out at sea, she had to change her plans temporarily.
But, since she was going to kill him anyway.
Killing Philippa while she was at it shouldn’t have been too difficult.
“So you were unconscious until now?” Mini asked.
Philippa replied, “I was knocked out, it scared my mom to death, but I woke up this morning and came looking for you.”
“Hmm, I know about this incident. We killed that baldy yesterday, and the woman escaped, but she surely won’t dare to come back to the island, so don’t worry,” Wu Heng said.
Philippa fiddled with her own braids, “I’m not afraid, it’s just you, the mage, that I worry about. I’ve seen all sorts of things at sea.”
Wu Heng asked, “So, you often see Level 18 professionals out at sea?”
Philippa was startled, then realized, “Shit, they were both Level 18?”
“What do you think, why would the steward take action?”
“Shit~!”
Wu Heng stood up and said, “Let’s go, we’ll check out your tavern.”
“Oh, okay!”
The two left the association, called a carriage, and headed to the Conch Tavern.
…
Inside the tavern’s private room.
Millicent said somewhat awkwardly, “My Lord, causing trouble for you again.”
“I went to report to him, what trouble?” Philippa said from the side.
Wu Heng followed up, “It’s all right, one of them is killed, and the other ran away; they surely won’t dare to come to the island.”
“Then that’s good,” Millicent sighed in relief.
Wu Heng glanced at the undisturbed private room and asked, “Did that woman leave anything behind?”
“Let me check,” Philippa searched around the room.
She took out a copper button from under a wooden chair, “Does this count? It should be left by that woman.”
“Yeah, it counts.” Wu Heng put it into his Space Ring, then continued to Millicent, “Resume normal business. Delegate some of your work appropriately; no owner is busy every day.”
“As you say, my Lord,” Millicent nodded.
Wu Heng left the tavern, got on the carriage, and Philippa also climbed into the carriage.
The carriage headed for their residence.
Philippa affectionately sat on Wu Heng’s lap and spoke, “Wu Heng, I have something to tell you.”
Wu Heng ran his hand inside her clothes, caressed her smooth belly, then held her chest and said, “Go on.”
“Find me something to do, my mom always makes me carry plates.” Philippa loosened the leather armor on her body and continued, “Yesterday, I wasn’t even much scared when that woman wanted to kill me, but when she asked why I wasn’t a captain instead of carrying plates, I really couldn’t take it.”
“Can’t be!”
“How can it not be! I have some face outside, but carrying plates, what’s that all about? I don’t care, you arrange something for me, just keep me out of the store,” Philippa twisted her body.
Wu Heng thought for a moment, “Then I’ll ask tomorrow to see if you can help out in the association.”
“Okay, I know quite a few people at the association now.”
…
Upon returning to their residence.
Wu Heng told her to wait in the living room, while he entered the ‘Skeleton Prophet’s’ room upstairs.
The Skeleton Prophet, dressed in a long robe, sat on a wooden chair, gazing out the window.
“Take a look, can you find out anything with this?” Wu Heng took out the copper button.
The Skeleton Prophet took it, a skeletal palm hovered over the button while the other hand grasped Wu Heng’s arm.
The next second, fragmented scenes appeared in his mind.
Inside an old fabric shop.
A seductively beautiful woman entered the store, “Shopkeeper, how much for this cloak?”
“You have good taste, made of fine material, 70 copper.”
“Okay, I’ll take it.”
The woman threw down the money, picked up the cloak, put it on her head, and walked out, nodding.
…
In a lavishly decorated lounge.
The woman was holding a shriveled head.
The head stared fiercely, “Wait until another Sect Guardian arrives nearby, then kill that boy before the association assigns a new one.”
“A Vice-executive? Isn’t that unnecessary?”
“Do as I say.”
…
In a dimly lit cabin.
The mercenary who brought in the intelligence relayed the situation from the association’s side.
The grey fog condensed into a poisonous snake and killed the mercenary.
“We can’t make a move on the island. Imilo and Gianvito are enough to leave behind our marks.”
“Then we wait until he leaves the island.”
…
One scene after another came to an end.
Wu Heng also regained clarity in an instant.
He had not expected that the Skeleton could display scenes in this way.
It was completely different from the first-person perspective shared with the Ghost, more like a void looking down on everything from somebody else’s point of view.
But he pretty much figured out the whole situation.
The person from the Church of Divine Punishment did not come back for revenge against the association, but rather, the talking head had given the order to the woman and Baldy to kill him.
“It is indeed targeted at me.”
Wu Heng continued to ask, “Can you see where she is now?”
The Skeleton Prophet grabbed Wu Heng’s arm once again.
His head spun for a moment.
In his vision appeared a cargo ship slowly retreating into the distance, with the woman standing on the deck, looking out into the distance.
The next second, the woman suddenly raised her head and looked into the air, as though making eye contact with Wu Heng.
The vision ended.
Wu Heng put the copper buckle away again.
He went downstairs where Philippa retracted the shuttlecock she was kicking, “How did it go?”
“That woman’s gone. Do me a favor, go to the harbor and check where the cargo ship ‘Sardari’ is heading next.”
“Sure.” Philippa nodded and left the place straight away.
Wu Heng then checked a few rooms where the Skeletons were staying.
He confirmed that nothing had changed.
Before long, Philippa returned by carriage, “It’s heading to Netalee City in the Yeko Kingdom.”
“Got it.”
Philippa smiled flirtatiously as she approached, “Tonight, shall I keep you company?”
Wu Heng put his arm around her shoulder, “Not tonight, I still have things to take care of. I’ll come to find you at the tavern in a couple of days.”
“That works. Just don’t forget.”
After staying a while, Philippa went back to the tavern.
Wu Heng also went back to his room and stepped through the boundary door.
…
Zombie World.
After releasing Xiao Xiao, Zhao Yanqiu came over after a short while, “King, Vice-leader Li Yahong sent a message, saying he has contacted survivors overseas and has invited you to take a look when you have time.”
Survivors overseas?
He received the news so quickly?
“Prepare a car. I’ll go to the mall right now.”
“Okay.”
Before long, Wu Heng arrived at the mall.
Li Yahong walked in and said, “We’ve made contact with survivors from various regions overseas. Some of them said that they used to work in a military factory and could lead us to occupy it, on the condition that we provide enough food.”
“Oh? Which country’s factory?”
“Myanmar. We didn’t have much difficulty communicating. They also speak Chinese. For other countries, we’ve only found survivors who are proficient in English, Japanese, and Korean. We have yet to find language-proficient people from the other regions to communicate.”
Myanmar?
Wu Heng frowned.
This was somewhat different from what he had imagined; their weapons development did not seem too advanced.
Many things were still being bought from China or other major countries.
“What kind of weapons factory?”
“An ammunition factory; they said they could produce bullets for rifles and machine guns and mentioned several models, which I’ve noted down.”
