Chapter 399: Chapter 335, Modernized Netherworld Troop Types (One chapter update today, couldn’t write it out.)
Arriving at Shanaila’s residence, Wu Heng knocked lightly on the iron door.
Before long, a crack was opened.
The stern-faced housekeeper looked out, “Deputy Steward Wu Heng!”
“Is Lady Shanaila at home?” Wu Heng asked directly.
“Please wait a moment!” the housekeeper said, and closed the courtyard door again.
Soon, she opened the door all the way, “The lady invites you to come in.”
Wu Heng nodded and walked in with his two maids.
The flowerbeds were full of blooming flowers, with butterflies and bees fluttering around.
The entire courtyard was permeated with a faint fragrance of flowers.
They entered the central building.
The layout of the living room had changed somewhat since the last time.
The sculptures and hanging paintings had also been replaced with different styles.
Footsteps sounded.
Shanaila, wearing a beige long dress, walked down the stairs at a leisurely pace. Seeing the three of them, she instantly revealed a bright smile, “What brings you to see me today?”
“Came to check on you!” Wu Heng said.
Mini chimed in from the side, “Master said he hasn’t seen you in several days and was worried something might have happened to you.”
“You care for me so much!” Shanaila then looked back at Wu Heng.
“Of course!”
At that moment, several maids came up with tea and snacks.
The coffee table was filled with various styles of pastries.
After the maids left, Wu Heng asked, “What have you been busy with lately? Indeed, it’s been a few days since we last saw you.”
“Just the same old business consortium things!” Shanaila said with a hint of helplessness.
“Run into any trouble?”
“Nothing major, it’s alright, it’s already been taken care of,” Shanaila smiled and continued, “Will you have dinner here tonight? We recently brought in two new chefs, and some of the alchemy dishes are quite good.”
“Sure, then I’ll impose,” said Wu Heng politely.
Mini immediately leaned in, her tone surprised, “Sister, you changed chefs just like that? That’s quite extravagant!”
“It’s not always a change, the consortium’s chefs are rotated as needed,” Shanaila explained, then turned to the housekeeper, “Prepare dinner!”
“Yes, Lady!”
The housekeeper went downstairs to give orders, and the group continued to chat in the living room.
…
After chatting for a while.
The housekeeper returned to announce that dinner was ready.
They sat down at the long carved dining table.
Shanaila and Wu Heng sat on one side, while Mini and Andre Willow sat opposite them.
When they had almost finished eating.
Shanaila asked with a smile, “Busy with lots of things at the association?”
Wu Heng was about to answer when he felt a soft little hand slip into his palm under the table, fingers interlocking.
Turning his head, Shanaila retained her smile, giving a subtle wink.
Wu Heng was surprised by her boldness and glanced at the housekeeper standing behind ‘Sha Naila’.
The housekeeper stood to the side as usual, her gaze fixed ahead as if she hadn’t seen anything.
Seeing that Shanaila wasn’t concerned, Wu Heng naturally stopped worrying and, holding her hand, said, “Busy with the pirates’ matters.”
“Oh, be careful with your work. To be in the position of deputy steward at your age is impressive; don’t push yourself too hard,” Shanaila tilted her head and spoke softly.
“I know,” Wu Heng smiled, then continued to ask, “When will the goods I ordered arrive?”
The housekeeper glanced behind her before answering, “According to the schedule, it will take four more days.”
“Are you in a hurry?” asked Shanaila.
“Not exactly, just thought to ask.”
Shanaila went on, “Will you need to place another order later?”
“Most likely!”
“Just let me know when you place your next order. I’ll give you a total. These last two times have been a substantial amount of business. You’ll get some discount on future orders.”
“Great!”
Their palms tightly clasped, they continued to talk about various matters related to the island.
After they finished dinner.
It was only then that they quietly let go of each other’s hand and walked back to the living room to chat for a while longer.
As dusk gradually fell.
Wu Heng left with his two maids.
Before leaving, he said, “Come over for dinner when you have time.”
Shanaila nodded with a smile, “Sure!”
…
Back at their residence.
Mini sprawled on the sofa, patting her belly and complaining about how full she was.
The little owl also flew in from the balcony, incessantly chirping.
Andre Willow took out some strips of meat from the Space Ring to feed the little owl, and said, “Master, it seems Lady Shanaila cares a lot about you.”
Sitting down, Wu Heng didn’t deny it, “Yeah, our relationship is quite good.”
Andre Willow continued, “Lady Shanaila is so gentle and beautiful, and she’s wealthy too, just perfect.”
Mini also nodded, “Yeah, and she’s an elf, she can live so long.”
Wu Heng laughed, “Everyone has their own strengths, you two are also great, no need to envy her.”
“Hehe, master is so nice,” Mini said.
Andre Willow then said, “Go, prepare the bathwater for the master.”
“I’m so stuffed, I don’t want to move!”
“You’ll feel better once you move around. Go on,” Andre Willow urged again.
Reluctantly, Mini went upstairs to prepare the bathwater.
Together, the three soaked in the bath and then went to their rooms to rest.
…
The next day, Zombie World.
Close to dusk, the convoy started back to the old factory area, escorted by a large crowd of skeletons.
This morning, Wu Heng had led the skeletons out early, and along the main road, they cleared zombies toward the direction of the bus station.
Along the way, they made use of Skeleton Flying Dragons to drop bombs and the Spear Array for carpet-style advancement.
