MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter - Chapter 995
Chapter 995: Chapter 995: Thunderbolt Chapter 995: Chapter 995: Thunderbolt The two women were speechless when Li Yao said those who stayed behind were fools.
Actually, they also wanted to stay, but they valued commitments, and they felt embarrassed to let Li Yao leave alone, as it was too dangerous, so they followed him.
“Are you saying they’ll be wiped out?” Summer’s indifferent tone picked up on another layer of meaning in Li Yao’s words.
Li Yao threw out a Flash Bomb and said, “Do you think Flash Bombs should just be thrown randomly?”
“Isn’t that the case?” Bing Yu frowned, thinking that with so many densely packed monsters, random throws would suffice.
“Then you can keep thinking that, two battlefields, too chaotic, I can’t control everything, let’s retreat first,” Li Yao said as he tossed again, but this time he threw a Smoke Bomb.
Li Yao didn’t answer the question; his timing for throwing was always the most appropriate, having been carefully deliberated for the best outcome. Throwing haphazardly could also work well, given the numerous monsters, but it wouldn’t be the most effective.
The carrion crows had already lost track of Li Yao and their scent; this was the effect of the Smoke Bomb. It might not be as overpowered as a rogue’s ability, but it was still very effective.
Like this, they continued using Flash Bombs and Smoke Bombs, finally breaking free from the range of the carrion crows.
They returned to the original hillside and looked into the distance.
“Are they really in danger?” Summer asked quietly.
“I’ve said it, these carrion crows aren’t idiots; their intelligence is just lower, but they’re not dumb. If they had listened to me, we could have charged directly to the base of the Dead Light Mother Tree. The crows wouldn’t have been so dense there, but now, having not moved, they’ve lost that chance,” Li Yao explained.
The two women’s expressions changed, and they said, “Then they…”
“Are doomed,” Li Yao said bluntly as he pulled out a chair and leisurely started sipping grape wine to replenish his health.
“Should we save them?” The two women exchanged a glance.
“If you want to go and die with them, be my guest, but I’m not getting involved,” Li Yao said as he swirled his wine glass. “Besides, they might not even listen to you. If you don’t believe me, you can try.”
Summer nodded and then began to privately message them, but after a while, she said with an unpleasant expression, “They won’t come back, and they’ve even invited us to join them in leveling up.”
Bing Yu shook her head slightly. Although she hadn’t known Li Yao for long, her intuition told her that Li Yao’s decision was the correct one.
Indeed, in less than two minutes, the two women saw that the crows in the sky were no longer foolishly diving down.
Instead, they began to slowly spiral downwards, enclosing and attacking gradually.
Flash Bombs continued to flash, and although the crows’ health was reduced by nearly half and their defense significantly weakened, they still did not fall.
Soon the crows lowered their altitude and started to attack the team frantically.
The team instantly fell into chaos, with random throws of Flash Bombs and their roars of anger.
They were quickly surrounded by the crows, and Li Yao and his companions could only see the layers of crows without a glimpse of the people in the team.
If not for the occasional burst of light, one might not even know a team was entrapped within.
Under these conditions, they didn’t even have the chance to throw Flash Bombs; they fought the crows in a frenzy.
These crows, already weakened by the Flash Bombs, were easy to kill, but their numbers were overwhelming, and their attacks had not decreased.
It took less than thirty seconds for the crows to take wing, soaring in the sky before returning to the top of the Dead Light Mother Tree.
On the ground, only the bodies of crows and a few skeletons stripped of flesh remained. Aside from appearing somewhat fresher than the bones on the ground, they were essentially no different.
The two women looked on, their faces pale as ghosts. This was downright terrifying–flesh and blood devoured by countless crows was not a delightful sensation.
“The show is not over yet,” Li Yao said with a smile.
“What?” Bing Yu’s expression changed.
“They are too greedy. Do you think such greedy people would be content with a graveyard resurrection?” Li Yao said indifferently.
Bing Yu messaged privately again, but her face looked displeased, obviously not heeding her warning. It was a joke–graveyard resurrection with such heavy losses was something they could not afford.
Sure enough, a few minutes later, several people resurrected together and everyone started to run like mad.
The crows too went crazy and flew back into the sky. Those who hadn’t run out of range were besieged by the crows, only Sickle, with the fastest speed, managed to run out in front, while the others hit the streets again.
“Why didn’t you save us?” Sickle asked bitterly.
Li Yao said indifferently, “Why should I save you? Besides, I made it very clear before opening the team that you were acting on your own volition. Bing Yu messaged you privately later, and at that time you still had a chance to get out. I’m afraid you thought at the time that we were jealous of you grinding for experience. Now that you’ve died and come to question us, you don’t have that right.”
Sickle fell silent. Although she was a bit willful, she wasn’t irrational. This time, their own actions led to the deaths–it was not the fault of others. She quietly resurrected them one by one on the fringe.
The resurrected crowd was also embarrassed, wanting to blame but knowing they were at fault, they couldn’t speak up.
Ling Feng stood with a face full of malevolence and resentment, not only having lost the experience just gained but incurring even more loss.
“Damn it, it was all your scheme; you deliberately set us up, right?” Ling Feng glared at Li Yao with venomous eyes.
“Heh, whatever you say,” Li Yao responded dismissively. “Also, keep away from me, I don’t want to catch stupidity.” Li Yao finished his wine in one gulp.
“Motherfucker, you’re asking for it.” Ling Feng was enraged, raising his weapon and charging at Li Yao: “If I die, you’re not getting off easy either.”
“Don’t fight,” Bing Yu quickly said.
“Get out of my way, don’t stop me,” Ling Feng spat out viciously.
Bing Yu’s face changed, her eyes filled with utter disappointment. She couldn’t believe her well-intended warning was ignored, and even met with such ferocity–she had witnessed Li Yao’s prowess.
Bing Yu looked on with a mocking expression, thinking of killing Li Yao; the man was truly overestimating himself.
“Idiot, I’ve tolerated you once or twice out of a desire not to stoop to your level. But now you’re really pushing your luck, get down on your knees.”
Li Yao hurled the wine cup like a Flying Round Blade.
In the incredulous stares of everyone, Ling Feng, who had charged at Li Yao, suddenly knelt on one knee, and his weapon fell to the ground.
He was taken down; everyone instantly understood.
Then they saw Li Yao grasp the Sickle resting against the chair and, with a brilliant slash of light, Ling Feng’s head shot up into the air.
Only after kicking Ling Feng’s corpse down the slope did Li Yao coldly say, “Whoever saves him, I kill them.” …
