Chapter 1042: Chapter 1042: Heaven-Defying Mother Bug Egg Chapter 1042: Chapter 1042: Heaven-Defying Mother Bug Egg The spectators who were enjoying the scene felt a bit of schadenfreude as the situation had now reversed.
Originally, Starfire, who initiated the war, should be the ones attacking, while Prosperous Era should have been well-prepared for defense.
However, what they saw was Starfire’s people on the walls of Prosperous Era, using most of Prosperous Era’s defensive resources to defend themselves.
“Hehe, even Prosperous Era has times when they fall this hard–justice has been served.”
“Prosperous Era has always been arrogant and overbearing. They got what they deserved.”
“These people are crazy. If you’re going to compete for the first kill, just compete. Why team up to prevent others from entering the dungeon?”
“A bunch of cowards. Even if they get the first kill, what of it? It just shows they are scared of Starfire.”
“Starfire is truly domineering. Look at their guild leader. I’m so envious.”
“Right, just like Prairie Fire said, ‘You won’t let us get the first kill? Then none of us will get it.’”
“The key is Starfire Welfare is too good. Starfire already had the richest warehouse, and now they’ve swallowed up Prosperous Era’s warehouse. This has genuinely put Starfire’s warehouse ahead of all the major guilds.”
“No wonder they could suddenly offer more than ten thousand Gold Coins and ten pieces of Golden Dress as military rewards, for them it’s just like playing.”
“Yeah, how cool it would be to join Starfire, too bad the requirements are too high.”
“Mainly because too many people want to join Starfire, the competition is too fierce.”
As Starfire continuously transported various treasures and materials, and with no attacks coming from outside the city for the time being, relative calm ensued, and the spectators began to discuss heatedly.
But those large guilds were secretly alarmed, continuously trying to figure out how to deal with the situation with Starfire, especially since Starfire had easily taken down Prosperous Era and could just as easily take them down.
“Guild leader, come over here for a sec.” Unparalleled Beauty interrupted Li Yao as he was enhancing his guild buildings.
“What’s up?” Li Yao immediately spread his wings and jumped down from the Arrow Tower.
“This cave is very weird. The quality is terrifyingly high, but it’s untouchable,” said Unparalleled Beauty.
Li Yao quickly made his way to a basement, and as soon as he saw it, he frowned slightly. Although it was man-made, the walls were filled with various biological liquid substances that had solidified to create smooth surfaces. He knew instantly–it was the style of the Worm Tribe.
Li Yao saw several Starfire players standing far off at the edge. At the far end of the hall was an immense egg.
The egg was enormous, at least four yards long, three yards wide, and three to four yards high–practically the size of a giant house.
Surrounding the egg were numerous skeletons and corpses of players, including several fresh ones that were clearly those of Starfire players.
Li Yao’s heart pounded violently. He couldn’t believe his eyes and walked straight towards the giant egg.
“Guild leader, be careful not to go there.”
“Boss, don’t go over there.”
Unparalleled Beauty grabbed Li Yao and said, “Don’t get close. Anyone who gets within two yards of the egg will die instantly, and we don’t know why. All kinds of attacks are also ineffective; physical attacks don’t work, and magic attacks get decomposed and absorbed before they even reach the egg.”
“This giant egg is of dark gold level, definitely a treasure,” Titan’s Eye said. “It’s a pity we can’t take it with us or destroy it. Are we just going to let Prosperous Era’s descendants benefit?”
Li Yao’s eyes turned blue, and then he saw the name of the creature.
Egg of the Worm Mother
Quality: Dark Gold Legend
???
???
???
Even with the Titan’s Eye, Li Yao could only see one more piece of information than a regular player, which was the name of the egg.
But just that name was enough for Li Yao to burst into laughter.
In his previous life, there was a player who had experiences similar to Li Yao and offended a large guild, being hunted down like a dog at the beginning.
He was even worse off than Li Yao, who at least was able to confront them on a small scale as his skills improved.
But this player had no talent for techniques and eventually gave up on himself, betraying the three major factions and joining the Shadow Council.
The Shadow Council was an organization of Orcs, which orchestrated the invasion of The Ancient God World by the Orcs.
But the Orcs failed and were captured, and the Shadow Council was heavily damaged and went into hiding.
Years later, the remnants of the Shadow Council began to recruit followers from The Ancient Gods and conducted evil rituals, their most powerful act was the overthrow of a human nation.
They started to worship the Ancient Gods, not to avenge the Orcs but to free the sealed Ancient Gods.
After joining the Shadow Council, this player somehow gained favor from an Ancient God and even became a Divine Envoy.
By that era, military structures were popular, and almost every high-level player had their own followers forming armies.
This Divine Envoy’s personal strength was still not great, but he commanded a very strong army, that of the Worm Tribe.
Of course, this player was only one person, and his army, however vast, had its limitations.
But the members of the big guilds were in the hundreds of thousands, each player with substantial armies, which was terrifying.
But this player constantly struck at the guild through the Worm Tribe. Despite the sacrifices, the Worm Tribe seemed endlessly regenerative and incredibly resilient.
And as the player’s rank increased, the ability to summon the Worm Tribe grew stronger, and he eventually became a major concern for that super guild, which never found a way to deal with him.
Later, when a certain super dungeon instance opened, everyone finally understood the origins and traits of the Worm Tribe and learned that, at the time he became a Divine Envoy, an Ancient God had granted him an epic-level queen worm egg.
Back then, Li Yao was so envious, thinking how great it would be to own a queen worm egg himself. With his skills combined with a swarm, he could be fearless against the Prosperous Era.
Of course, Li Yao also recruited armies, but his personal army was too weak, and being poor, he couldn’t sustain it. Constantly losing soldiers in battle without adequate returns only made him poorer.
But now he had come across a legendary queen worm egg–what a concept! If an epic level egg was so revolutionary, what more a legendary one.
Actually, Li Yao choosing to become a Mechanical hunter eventually aimed at commanding Mechanical Soldiers, or perhaps a Metal Storm, to sweep away everything. He had little hope of obtaining a queen worm egg,
because as far as he knew, although that dungeon instance did drop queen worm eggs after its opening, those were only of fine quality, and while eggs fetched sky-high prices, their achievements were not comparable to the epic ones.
And several pieces of Titan Equipment could bring him a Mechanical Legion, which in reality was no weaker than a swarm of Worm Tribe.
As level forty approached, Li Yao was also ready to start building his Mechanical Legion. But unexpectedly, he came across a queen worm egg, and it was astonishingly of legendary caliber.
Li Yao couldn’t imagine what it would be like if he later possessed both the Worm Tribe and a Mixed Mechanical Army…
