Chapter 1012: Chapter 1012: Main Story Dungeon Unlocked Chapter 1012: Chapter 1012: Main Story Dungeon Unlocked Originally, Li Yao was somewhat dissatisfied that this pet couldn’t move, but looking at its attributes, he no longer had such concerns.
Especially since the pet couldn’t move, but its range was even a bit longer than his own. With his attribute bonuses, the range was at least over two hundred meters.
To be honest, four skills seemed a bit too few for an intermediate Racial Chief, but having two that near-ignore distance and two long-range skills, in reality, that was already more than sufficient.
Among the four skills, one was without a cooldown, which could be seen as the normal attack, namely the ten-round Artillery Shell burst.
A ten-shell burst in three seconds was already very powerful, and with Li Yao’s attribute bonuses, it could take even less than three seconds, which could definitely instantly kill any current player.
The all-direction heat emission device, this amounted to an all-round strike every thirty seconds, akin to an unavoidable skill.
The dominance of this skill lay in the fact that if one couldn’t dodge it, and even if they used other skills to block the initial damage, the subsequent burning damage was also lethally deadly. Also, it had a significantly vast area of effect in the form of a shock wave; presumably, the Firehawk’s Flame Feather Strike was even faster and had a much larger range.
The charging skill, although taking four seconds, allowed the release of a fan-shaped laser barrage, which could adjust the angle to sweep across, forming a terrifying storm of barrages; it could be said this was a killer move, a wide-reaching killer move.
The final skill, the Rocket Cannon, was a real large-scale rocket that precisely pinpointed its target; the damage was unquestionable, but it required an accurate aim and good anticipation.
These were the pet’s advantages: thick health, high defense, and explosive attack capability.
However, this pet also had a significant drawback; its ammo and shells were not naturally converted but required a special form of energy transformation.
Flame Essence and a few other materials were the power source for the firepower; however, these materials were now high-level materials for enchantments or making rotors, Inscriptions, and other secondary professions.
Just the pet’s consumption alone would likely be more than an average player could afford, as Li Yao found even the sight of the consumption table headache-inducing.
This led to the fact that even Li Yao could not always use this pet.
Summoning it once required a significant amount of materials, further reducing the already immobile giant turret’s mobility.
After all, for a regular pet summoning, Li Yao could dismiss it and reset the summoning point, but the material consumption for summoning caused Li Yao to feel the pinch even more.
Even though he was wealthy, he could not withstand such consumption; to know, the materials for one summoning were enough for a high-level equipment enchantment, and nobody could bear such a cost, not even the rich Li Yao could afford to play like this.
Moreover, that was in the situation where Li Yao had other super pets and could only summon this one at critical moments.
Li Yao spent another day, once again strengthening all his Mechanical Pets.
The Dragon Queen, now along with Li Yao’s level forty, was still a fourth-tier world-class super boss. Compared to the third stage, it had regained some abilities, even more violent and formidable, truly deserving of the first place.
The Dragon Queen didn’t leave any room for the other pets, and even when taken on together, they stood no chance against her; instead, they were routed by the Dragon Queen.
Unconvinced by her fourth-tier status, the Dragon Queen even challenged Li Yao, only to be once again battered and bruised by him. This subdued the Dragon Queen a bit, although she still remained defiant.
The Hydra had now also become an intermediate Racial Chief, with the addition of the Wind Serpent, it now had five heads, extremely powerful in combat, a weapon of mass slaughter. In one-on-one combat, apart from the Dragon Queen, no other pets could match the Hydra.
The Sea Monster, an intermediate Racial Chief, had become even larger, dominating the sea. Although it couldn’t be summoned on land, its combat power in the water even surpassed the Hydra, becoming the protector of Starfire Harbor. When Li Yao did not summon them, the Hydra and the Sea Monster each took responsibility for protecting a port.
Moreover, these overlord-level sea monsters had subdued and gathered a portion of marine creatures to assist them in fulfilling their duty to guard the port. Having survived near the harbor, their combat strength might be difficult to gauge, but they were at least very reliable Scouts.
Following that was Li Yao’s luxurious lineup of Mechanical Pets.
The Mechanical Firehawk, after evolving, its flames had turned a light blue hue, its appearance had greatly changed, and it gained an additional skill: Flame Dragon Whirl, a controllable and guidable area of effect damage skill.
The Spider Tank, merged with the Mithril brought back by Li Yao, became even more durable, and its Magic Resistance also increased correspondingly due to the addition of magic metal. It too acquired a new skill, Meteor Leap.
It was a skill that combined displacement and damage; selecting a location would briefly turn it into a meteor falling to the ground, capable of causing massive impact and concussion damage.
Death God 4000 gained a new skill, Rocket Jump, which allowed it to briefly fly and glide. Although it didn’t come with additional damage skills, the increase in agility could, in a certain sense, be considered an increase in damage.
By now, the lowest rank among Li Yao’s pets was that of a Racial Chief. Their combat strength was off the charts.
Additionally, at level 40, Li Yao continued the Beast King challenge, so the limit for summoned battle pets became seven.
This was a small matter for Li Yao, especially with the recent transformation of his spiritual power.
Other players were still stuck at summoning two pets, and managing to control both was just barely accomplished; but to control three was extremely difficult.
Because Li Yao had directly seized first place in the big competition, no one could say Hunters were weak anymore–the Hunter players were the ones considered weak.
Moreover, the role of Hunters began to emerge. Although they were still not favored, they at least had a place.
Encouraged by Li Yao’s example, Hunter players began to strive for improvement.
Most Beast King Hunters knew capturing super pets was difficult, yet they researched the unique uses of various pets, each with its own role. As for the shooters, they were a barrage of chaos. With the arrival of level 40, shooting Hunters also turned into artillery towers.
The Blood Moon receded, and now the forces on Neutral Continent started to besiege and clear out Tristram.
Li Yao knew that the main dungeon was finally about to surface; after all, with so many days passing, the top players had basically reached level 40.
As time passed, more and more experts reached level 40, stepping into this tier meant they wouldn’t drop down anymore.
Li Yao, too, gained a lot of experience, but it was not even enough for half a level.
Finally, after six days of activity, someone finally discovered the entrance to the underground tomb.
Then, the main dungeon opened, but it turned out to be a group of dungeons.
Everyone knew that the first kill of the main dungeon was finally upon them.
The dungeons discovered were the Earl’s Tower, Underground Tomb, and Tristram–challenging any of these at the highest difficulty would grant entry to the ten-person dungeon.
To everyone’s surprise, the final ten-person dungeon actually had two options, namely the Cathedral Outskirts and Cathedral Underground Palace…
