Chapter 237: 110 Divine Weapon Chopping Demons! The Blade Severs Immortality!_2
“That Feng Mo is coming for me, so I’m going to go out this afternoon,”
Su Changkong began, with no intention of engaging Feng Mo at the Giant Whale Gang stronghold.
Fighting him would not be something ordinary Martial Artists could help with; they would only get in the way. Feng Mo was no ordinary beast but a Demon Monster as intelligent as any human. Should Feng Mo deem the situation unfavorable, taking Giant Whale Gang Martial Artists hostage was not out of the question.
Su Changkong was determined to face Feng Mo alone, to see if the Demon Monster’s body was truly unkillable!
“Third younger brother… you…” Sikong Zhan wanted to say more.
But Su Changkong cut him off with a smile, “Don’t worry, I cherish my life very much. I’m planning to lay low. If Feng Mo can’t find me, he might just give up.”
“This…” Sikong Huang and Sikong Zhan exchanged glances, but they also knew it was an excuse; Su Changkong was preparing to face Feng Mo alone!
Even though Su Changkong spoke calmly, his determination was resolute, and the Sikong Siblings could not dissuade him. They could only choose to trust in Su Changkong.
In the afternoon, Su Changkong got his affairs in order. He did not bring much with him; the Iron-Cutting Sword at his waist was his most important reliance!
“Second sister, this is far enough.”
Outside the Giant Whale Gang, Sikong Huang accompanied him. Su Changkong spoke to her, telling her to go back to the Giant Whale Gang.
“Be careful! You must come back!”
A thousand words were finally condensed into this single sentence.
“Don’t worry,” assured Su Changkong, waving his hand as he turned and walked away into the distance.
As Sikong Huang watched Su Changkong’s retreating figure, tears shimmered in the corners of her eyes—a rare sight from the usually steadfast woman.
Almost ten years ago, on a fateful evening, Sikong Yong must have sensed danger approaching. To avoid implicating his children, he left the Giant Whale Gang alone to confront Feng Mo.
Three days later, Sikong Yong returned with grave injuries and passed away without recovering.
Now, like Sikong Yong before him, Su Changkong had also set out alone to confront Feng Mo. Sikong Huang was terrified, scared that Su Changkong would never return, his fate unknown, or even worse, that he might return only to have already passed into the realm of Celestial Beings!
Only once Su Changkong’s silhouette had completely vanished from sight did Sikong Huang quietly return to the Giant Whale Gang. All she could do was pray, hoping Su Changkong could overcome this calamity.
Two hundred li away from the Giant Whale Gang, in an uninhabited barren mountain.
Inside the desolate mountain, weeds grew rampant, and trees stood tall. The occasional cries of insects, fish, and birds only accentuated the desolation of the mountain.
Su Changkong sat in meditative silence. Within his body, the Blade Qi had been nurtured to its limit of what he could withstand. Though there were many mosquitoes in this barren mountain, not a single one dared to approach within ten Zhang of Su Changkong.
As if to come close would be to court oblivion!
In the blink of an eye, it was dusk five days later.
The orange glow of the setting sun no longer seemed harsh to the eyes. During the winter days, even though there was no snow falling, the air still retained a trace of biting cold.
“Squeak, squeak, squeak!”
Suddenly, the previously silent forest was disturbed; insects, fish, birds, and beasts, including wild wolves and dogs, bolted as if terrified by something, causing a considerable commotion.
“He’s here.”
Su Changkong slowly opened his eyes. He was not afraid; his expression calm, he had nothing but a heart tempered a thousand times over, and a sword forged just as much.
“Do you think you can escape by hiding here?”
In the mountain wilderness, a cold mocking laughter echoed. A tall and burly figure emerged within the dimly-lit woods.
This was a tall, white-haired old man in grey clothing, his muscular physique bulging under his clothes. Despite the wrinkles and white hair, his presence was more imposing than that of many younger men, devoid of any typical old man’s frailty.
“I haven’t run,” Su Changkong slowly stood up, brushing a fallen leaf from his clothing, and smiled at Feng Mo, “I’ve been waiting for you here!”
“Hm? A young man? So… this is your true appearance?”
Feng Mo was slightly taken aback, having seen Su Changkong’s face clearly. He had a moment of realization, no wonder Su Changkong looked exactly like the man he had killed ten years ago; that wasn’t his real appearance!
Feng Mo didn’t bother to inquire about Su Changkong’s true identity, after all, in his eyes, they were all food, and exquisite food at that!
“Such a young Martial Artist with this level of strength? Among your human race, you would also be considered a prodigy. Saving you for last was indeed the right decision,”
Feng Mo commented on Su Changkong as if he were a connoisseur, seemingly discerning despite being a bloodthirsty monster.
Full of curiosity, Su Changkong asked, “How did you find me? I’ve been masking my tracks for a hundred li or more.”
This was a point Su Changkong needed to clarify; he had used Concealment techniques, yet Feng Mo had found him. Su Changkong wanted to understand how Demon Monsters tracked their prey.
“When you sustained injury from me, a strand of Monster Qi attached itself to you. This strand of Qi will not dissipate for months. Even if you fled to the Ends of the Earth, I could find you,”
Feng Mo said with a heh-heh chuckle.
The day he wounded Su Changkong and Gong Ba, then turned and left—firstly, he wasn’t in his prime condition to fight for long; secondly, once wounded by him, it was equivalent to being marked for easy tracking!
Su Changkong came to a realization; the Demon Monster’s tracking ability was far superior to any Fragrance-recognition Bug.
