Chapter 1197: Chapter 761: I Want to Go to the Chaos Plane Too Chapter 1197: Chapter 761: I Want to Go to the Chaos Plane Too Ange vigorously shook his leg, tossing aside his redemption while simultaneously extracting Negris’s body, letting them chat as he rushed towards the cavity in the seashell. With Eternity Road destroyed, were his fields still intact?
Negris’s projection onto the body glanced irritably at Ange and then spoke, “The changes in the world might be due to the Void collapsing, but could it affect places this far? This is a serious issue. Eternity Road is destroyed? How did it happen? Are there other changes?”
“Void collapsing?”
“It sounds terrifying. Why would the Void collapse?”
“Does the collapse of the Void mean the space is cracking open countless fissures, tearing apart all planes? Could this be why Eternity Road broke?”
Negris’s words were so alarming that they immediately sparked a chaotic flurry of discussions.
“Shut up, let Lisa and Emperor Blue Star speak and everyone else shut up!” Negris yelled, his head throbbing from the noise.
Though Negris often got bullied, that was because Little Fat Dragon was good-natured, but in essence, Negris was the true spokesperson of the gods.
Let alone divine metaphors, even Ange’s words had to be translated by Negris for others to understand, often representing Ange’s will. In the non-core circles, he still held considerable authority. When he shouted, everyone immediately fell silent.
Lisa quickly said, “Eternity Road is destroyed, and I don’t know what caused it. It suddenly cracked into pieces. I had previously dragged Eternity Road together into one big flat surface, like a large pancake, and now this pancake shattered into fragments. I managed to rush and retrieve the Farm Barriers, but the crops on top were all ruined.”
Negris sighed with relief. “No casualties then? You could retrieve the Farm Barriers? That’s good. If the fields aren’t revived, Ange invented many new farming methods, which are more efficient.”
He paused and added, “I’ll tell him about the destroyed fields.”
With this statement from Negris, Lisa sighed deeply in relief. The Lord cared most about his fields, and with both the Eternity Road and the fields destroyed, reporting this to Ange would have been a tremendous pressure.
“No casualties. Besides the Eternity Road, another issue is that recently, the Teleportation Array sometimes misaligns, or even if aligned, needs its coordinates recalibrated after a few days. The coordinate charts at the world’s transit stations need to be updated now and then,” Lisa continued reporting.
“Mhm, I understand. It probably still is the reason of the Void collapsing. It seems like this hasn’t been noticed in the Chaos Plane yet. Could it be that the farther you are from the Chaos Plane, the quicker the collapse happens? Anything else?” Negris asked.
Lisa opened her mouth and then said, “There are a pile of things, but compared to the collapse of the Void, they seem trivial, I’ve handled them myself.”
Negris nodded, his mood somewhat somber. It was unknown in the Chaos Plane, but back here, discovering the Void’s collapse impacting such distant places was serious indeed, leaving truly no mood to deal with those messy trivial matters.
Negris turned to Emperor Blue Star Tyrone and asked, “And you? What have you found? I feel like you’re so anxious you’d want to kick Lisa aside.”
Tyrone hurriedly responded, “My Astrology Tower likely observed the cause of Eternity Road’s destruction. You mentioned the Void collapsing, and it immediately aligned.”
“What reason?” Negris asked curiously.
“My Astrology Tower has observed that recently, the stars have been flickering irregularly, with their brightness fluctuating unpredictably. I couldn’t figure out the reason, but if it’s a Void collapse, that would explain it. Is the Void experiencing irregular tremors? Wrinkles? Anyway, it’s an unstable and irregular change that causes the flickering of starlight.”
“Eternity Road is likely fragmented for this reason. It has a vast area and is a thin plane with no strength. The shifts in the Void can easily tear it apart,” Tyrone said.
Hiludi stepped forward and added, “From the first observation of the flicker, I used the Time Balance to find the most regular star to use as a reference. From the identification of the reference point to now, the flickering of that star has sped up by three-thousandths of a second. I suspect the collapse of the Void is accelerating.”
“Time Balance? Three-thousandths of a second? How do you measure such fractions of seconds?” Negris asked curiously, as most humans were still using hourglasses to measure time. How did Hiludi manage to measure such a precise unit of time with the Time Balance?
“Hehe, magical, isn’t it? I invented it,” Hiludi proudly pulled out a disc the size of a face and showed it off to Negris.
Negris saw many hands and scales on the disc, corresponding to hours, minutes, and seconds, which made his head spin, and he quickly asked, “Which one is the three-thousandths of a second?”
Hiludi pointed to a pair of hands on the disc, “This one and this one, corresponding to hundredths and thousandths. When this circle moves one mark, it represents one-hundredth of a second, and when this circle moves one mark, it’s one-thousandth.”
Negris took a few looks, understood the progressive relationship, and then asked, “It’s so complex, but how do you know it’s one-thousandth? Also, it moves so quickly, won’t it break after a short period?”
“It was Lord who helped me measure,” Hiludi said proudly.
“The Ring of Balance? The Ring of Balance can be used like that? When did he help you measure? I didn’t know about that,” Negris said, puzzled.
“Oh, that day when I came to find Lord, you were being chased by Lord Naeli, you probably didn’t notice. As for it moving too fast…” Hiludi pressed down on the disc, stopping both the hundredths and thousandths circles, before continuing:
“Normally, they don’t move. They only move when precise measurements are needed. Lord Durken designed it.”
Negris nodded, “Very ingenious. If Ange can help you measure time, maybe he can also help Tyrone measure distance. Then the Astrology Tower could determine how far certain stars are from us.”
Tyrone slapped his thigh, “Ah, worthy of the God of Knowledge, so wise! Your wisdom is as vast as the starry sky, endless. Please, Lord Nage, put in a good word for me, so he can help me measure too.”
Negris, after hearing the earlier commendation, could hardly help puffing up his tail, but the latter part of the statement revealed Tyrone’s ulterior motives.
“Buzz off. Any other questions?” Negris asked.
Tyrone shook his head, puzzled, “Lord Nage, don’t you realize the seriousness of the situation? It seems the Void is collapsing faster. Why aren’t you panicking at all?”
“Because I’ve known about the Void collapse for a long time, I just didn’t expect its reach to be this extensive. Not just the Void collapse but also the Chaos Tide; Ange came back this time to take us all to the Chaos Plane,” Negris said nonchalantly, then continued:
“By the way, we’ve contacted the Old Immortal, but the Chaos Tide interrupted our conversation soon after it started. We also saved millions of Void Elves, revived billions of Undead, and even found a part of the Divine Tree, which is a remnant of the God of Life’s progenitor. We’re trying to revive it. Fifty thousand years ago, it was this tree that burned its own life to temporarily halt the collapse of the Void.”
Locke and Gailard couldn’t help but stand up, and others also became restless: “Take me with you, take me with you! I want to go to the Chaos Plane too!”
