Chapter 1095: Chapter 659: Got Knocked Away Without Saying a Word Chapter 1095: Chapter 659: Got Knocked Away Without Saying a Word “There’s no other way…” Alba didn’t even have time to regret as she shouted, “Chaotic Holy Spirits, dedicate everything to our Lord, Dark Wing! Erase all colors before us and let the world return to the embrace of Dark Wing! Ah!”
As Alba issued her command, the aura of the Holy Spirits behind her dramatically changed. Their eyes sparkled with red light. If a second ago these Holy Spirits were still foolishly following Alba, they now transformed into machines of slaughter.
Having given her order, Alba retreated instead of advancing, melding back into the group of Holy Spirits and making way for the four-winged Dark Angel behind her.
This Dark Angel shook her wings, and Light Wings propelled her several body lengths upwards. The energy on her body climbed crazily, reaching a critical point, and with a fierce thrust of her hands forward.
A beam of black light shot out, speeding straight ahead.
However, the moment the black beam burst forth, a thicker beam of pure white light struck her, engulfing both the dark beam and her, and the force even affected her companions behind, obliterating six or seven Dark Angels in this white beam of light, exposing Alba who had stepped back.
Alba, with a look of astonishment on her face, gazed in the direction the white beam came from and murmured bewilderedly, “Flash of Light?”
At the end of the beam, the Little Angel, holding the Great Angel’s Staff, was flapping its wings, smiling so broadly its face seemed to blossom: so many enemies…
Ah, ah, ah–Holy Light–ah, ah, ah–Saintly Light–You illuminate all directions–
Choirs behind them sang in unison, divine power swirling. The low-ranking angels behind the Little Angel clasped their hands, and the saintly light surged from their bodies, casting toward the wings on the Little Angel’s back.
The Little Angel unleashed a Holy Light Flash; of its four Light Wings, the bottom pair had vanished, and the second pair had also dimmed. However, with the dedication of these low-ranking angels, the wings brightened again, and the previously vanished pair unfolded anew.
“So that’s how low-ranking angels are used, to recharge the Great Angels?” Negriss muttered.
“Not exactly, it’s just that we’ve studied how to maximize the Holy Spirit Angels’ effectiveness, so there are many cooperative methods,” Lord Anthony said, waving his hand dismissively, “Destroy them, these fallen Holy Spirits.”
Anthony’s command was unnecessary, as attacks were already being hurled.
Countless exploding fruits were thrown from the outer perimeter of the encirclement; beyond the encirclement, a hundred-meter-tall War Giant Tree was swinging its long branches, tossing heaps of fruits lying on the ground.
“These are fruits I’ve saved up for a long time; I’ll need Lord Anthony to reimburse me later,” Tree Man Gaur said in a deep, resonant voice.
“Sure, just say you’re overly depleted, can’t pollinate, and might go extinct. Make Anthony reimburse and compensate you or find you a female Tree Person,” Lightning added, then looked at the scene with some regret.
In this kind of scenario, it couldn’t use its foul mouth to its actual potential, only able to watch from the sides.
“Tree People have no gender, I don’t want that, making such jokes; the God of Life would be angry,” Gaur smartly refused.
What it could and couldn’t say, Gaur knew very well; had it not been for that, it would have been kicked out just like Lightning for speaking out of turn. Now, it was just conveniently moved away, a much better treatment.
“Sigh…” Lightning sighed, having learned this lesson the hard way, and sighed again.
Thunderstrom, Typhoon, Wall of Sighs, Soul Storm, Soul Lightning, Death Erosion, Bone Cage, Wind Blade, Fireball, Explosive Flames, Chasm, Delay…
Magic Egg Cannon, Undying Flame Bird, Dragon Language Magic, Hammer of the Hills, Scalebreaker Arrow, Siege Crossbow, Lightning Spear…
Amassing the elite from the entire plane, an ambush of the unwary led almost to an outright massacre.
But Holy Spirits are weapons of war, and Chaotic Holy Spirits are no different; they fought fearlessly and ceaselessly, despite the tremendous casualties, firing beam after beam of black Holy Light.
If the shields held it was fine, but if they didn’t, those hit were annihilated, beyond even Ange’s ability to save.
For a time, the humans, elves, and dwarves suffered heavy losses. The Giant Dragons suffered no losses; a single Holy Light Flash wasn’t enough to kill them, and as long as they drew breath, Ange could bring them back.
After half an hour, the Holy Spirits had almost been entirely wiped out, but as the Chaotic Angels’ numbers dwindled, Ange’s attention became more focused.
Negriss noticed his distraction and quickly asked, “What’s wrong? Is something amiss?”
Ange pointed at the center of the Chaos Angel, “There, the intensity is increasing.”
Negris and Anthony exchanged a glance, “Alba? Is she plundering the power of her comrades?”
“It must be so. These Holy Spirits are all the same, heartless, doing whatever benefits them. But what could she become by plundering the power of her comrades? A sixth-tier Great Angel? Are there sixth-tier Holy Spirits?”
The answer to this question was swiftly revealed. Just as the Chaotic Holy Spirits were nearly annihilated, a pair of enormous Light Wings unfolded in the center–Dark Wings.
“This is bad, she is summoning her Lord.” The faces of Anthony and Negris changed.
According to Drosa, these Dark Wings should be another name for the Abyssal Big Mouth, which only likes to keep a plethora of inexplicable battle weapons. But since Abyssal Big Mouth is not a pleasant name, it prefers to adopt cooler ones.
Ange sensed a powerful consciousness appearing at that location and slowly ‘opened’ its eyes, its gaze falling upon him.
Ange tilted his head, not yet reacting, when a flash of light ignited, and Feiti crashed headlong into the center of the black wings.
Boom! A powerful shock wave erupted from the center, the space around it bursting open, deforming, twisting, expanding, and exploding.
The violent shock wave swept away the corpses of the Dark Angels, revealing the situation in the central area. Alba was seen half-kneeling on the ground, her back emitting a surging black glow, forming two gigantic wings.
Unfortunately, she was struck by Flash Feiti, her half-kneeling posture involuntarily skewed, her face also contorted.
Rumbling like a mountain running, another figure, purple in color, was sprinting in a different direction, each step shaking the ground in circles.
This scene seemed familiar: Ange, Negris, and the big cat all recalled the moment in the Land of Fallen. The big cat even quickly jumped to the ground, assuming a posture as if ready to farm.
Boom! Harvey recreated the scene of breaking through the Holy Wall City, but this time, he ‘charged’ at the Dark Wings, pinching it between him and Feiti and shattering it with a snap.
Alba’s wings splattered, her limbs contorted like a ragdoll flung high into the air, then plummeting heavily down.
“Pfft, always pretending. I loathe these Holy Spirits the most, the black ones alike,” Harvey spat disdainfully, picking up his dislodged palm bone and reattaching it to his arm, but the oddly colored middle finger was gone again.
Ange’s heart stirred, and he turned to look at the big cat, only to see it innocently looking up at the sky, its hands tightly stuffed in front of him.
Ange walked over, grabbed its hind legs, and gave a shake, and actually shook down two black wings. These were the wings that Harvey had knocked off, which were then stealthily picked up by the cat, quick hands indeed.
Ange stashed away the two wings, handed it a bag of Elf Beans, then tossed it far away.
“Argh!” The big cat roared angrily, protesting the unfairness of its fate.
Harvey looked around for a while but couldn’t find his finger bone. He sighed, supporting his waist as he walked away.
Feiti, carrying Alba like a rag doll, flashed in front of Ange and threw her down in front of Negris and Anthony, proudly saying, “I haven’t heard of anyone managing to project their presence in our Plane.”
Each Plane has its limits, supported here by matter and energy, both of which have their limits, no matter if you are an Ancient God or Abyssal Big Mouth. Even the most powerful forces, when projected here, must adhere to the constraints of the Plane. This limit absolutely cannot surpass that of the two Lords of Mourning.
Why does the Dragon God need to regress before entering the Plane to nurture the Dragon Clan? Why must the Serpent of Misfortune remain in the Void? Because the Plane lacks the necessary material and energy structure to sustain their power.
Those who needed healing, those who needed cleaning, those who needed flushing, everyone efficiently cleared the scene, preparing for the next batch of Chaos Angels to arrive.
Drosa stood there, dumbfounded, “Abyssal… Abyssal Big Mouth didn’t even speak a word before you guys sent it flying?”
He also noticed something else–though there’s an energy intensity restriction here, the combat ability of the creatures here far surpasses most beings in the Chaos Plane. Given the same level of energy, these beings could easily overturn most from the Chaos Plane.
Compared to the beings of this Plane, those from the Chaos Plane seemed like fools with strength but no knowledge of employing it. Unlike here at the Church of Light, they had so many tricks up their sleeves, like the Hymn of Eulogy–too many styles indeed.
