Chapter 1025: Chapter 594: The Strongest Skeleton? Invalid Chapter 1025: Chapter 594: The Strongest Skeleton? Invalid Balu was bewildered. What was going on? When it burst forth, it saw a bunch of ‘bystanders’, but who could have dragged it over for a thrashing like that?
Glancing around in some confusion, it spotted Ange and the Spirit Touch. Without a second word, Balu launched a Soul Impact at him.
It was still in soul state now, with few abilities at its disposal – Soul Impact was the most convenient and practical. Relying on its powerful soul, apart from the Old Immortal Monarch, no one could withstand its impact.
As expected, Ange was knocked slightly backward by the Soul Impact, his hand retracting the Spirit Touch.
“Humph, Giant Hand Balu, with a powerful soul, I’ll blast you to death.” Balu grunted angrily and darted upwards again.
Although the opponent’s head had only slightly reeled back, Balu believed that his soul must have shattered. In the Undead Empire, aside from the old Undead Monarch, no soul could endure its Soul Impact – not even Gust. Balu was confident of that.
However, when it reached a higher position and looked towards Stone Mountain, it was dumbfounded: Where was its body?
Before it could find its own body, something else clung to its soul. Upon inspecting it with its intent, the person it thought would ‘definitely have a shattered soul’ was now extending a finger with a jet-black, gleaming phalanx pointing at it.
“I…” Before it could finish speaking, Balu was dragged back again for another pounding.
Clang… Clang… Clang… On the third blow, Balu’s intent finally latched onto a stone and pulled violently.
The Spirit Touch flung it into the air, along with the stone.
However, with the stone as a fulcrum, Balu’s soul found a gap to exert force. With a violent jerk, Soul Flame burst forth from the Mourning Soul, breaking through the Spirit Touch. At the same moment, it hurled the stone at Ange while its soul used the momentum to soar upwards.
The lightning-fast response showcased Balu’s powerful combat instincts.
The stone wasn’t much of a threat. Ange brushed it aside with one hand, but with the stone between them, Balu gained a brief moment to react. The Mourning Soul pulsated violently as surging Soul Energy erupted, quickly condensing into Soul Armor around the soul.
First a skeleton head enveloped the Mourning Soul, then a spine extended downwards, and ribs emerged from the spine to form a ribcage.
After that, from the skull, the Soul Armor flowed like liquid until it formed a humanoid armor shrouded in a black mist, majestic and fierce.
Without a skeleton, the Lord of Mourning had conjured a skeletal structure from Soul Energy and then undertook Armorization.
“It can be done this way? Then Skeleton Zombies wouldn’t need a body either – just a soul like the Undead. Wouldn’t that mean they wouldn’t need to be reincarnated as Black Warriors?” Negris said in astonishment.
Feiti was the most authoritative on the matter. He raised his hand and said, “No, Soul Armor is much softer than bones. This kind of armor can only be used temporarily, and it cuts strength by more than half.”
A voice grinding its teeth spoke, “Correct, only temporarily, strength, greatly reduced, but, even at half strength, I can, crush you, thieves, robbers! Speak, where did you hide, my body! Hand it over, and I’ll leave you with a whole, soul!”
Ange reached into the Divine Realm and pulled out that Purple Gold Skeleton.
Balu grew even angrier: “Good, as I thought, you hid it, and even wiped off my, presence, detestable, detestable, not even your souls will, be spared, I’ll cast you into the endless, Black Prison, to forever endure, the scorching of Soul Fire!!”
Feiti couldn’t bear to watch any longer. He raised his hand and suggested, “My Lord, may I? He talks too much and tarnishes the reputation of us skeletons. Let me teach him a lesson.”
“Ha! Teach me a lesson? I, the Lord of Mourning, the mightiest skeleton in the Undead Empire, enemies slain by Balu, the Giant Hand, number in the millions. Speak the name, one million and one!” Balu roared.
Everyone felt a cringe coming on. Negris even said, “Do you think it got locked up because it talked too much and tripped over its own words? This is the first time I’ve thought that Ange speaking less is a good thing; this is too uncomfortable.”
Feiti deeply agreed, “It’s unbearable, we skeletons don’t babble so much. My Lord, please let me discipline it.”
Ange nodded slightly, somewhat confused.
“Fantastic, my bones were about to rust,” Feiti exclaimed as he jumped out.
Balu roared, “I am the strongest Skeleton! And you, you’re a Skeleton too? What kind of Skeleton are you!”
“Mourning–” Feiti crouched slightly, leaning forward, “Skeleton–”
No sooner had he spoken than Feiti turned into a flash of light, instantly slamming into Balu. The tremendous impact shattered Balu’s body, leaving only his soul hurtling away.
Then, with a quick reach of his hands, Feiti tightly enclosed Balu’s soul and added, “Flash, Feiti.”
The helmet of the Soul Armor slowly retracted, revealing its purple-gold skull, its jaw wide open in a grin-like pose.
Balu considered himself the strongest Skeleton in the Undead Empire, but on Ange’s side, there were at least two who could easily suppress him, one was Ange, the other Feiti.
And the Little Angel, having picked up the Great Angel’s Staff and transformed into the Supreme Holy Spirit, was also on the same level as the Mourning One and likely had an eighty percent chance of winning the fight.
Although Durken and Anthony were slightly less powerful, their rich skills gave them a fair chance of winning against Balu. Even Negris, whose main body was held by Ange, could easily squash Balu.
The strongest Skeleton? It doesn’t stand a chance in front of people like Ange!
“Do you understand now?” Negris bellowed as he held up Balu’s purple-gold skeleton with one hand and patted its skull with the other, cowering the Mourning Soul.
Balu obediently released a message of ‘understood’.
“Good to hear. Now, you’d better answer my next question seriously. Why did His Majesty imprison you?” Negris asked.
“I… I betrayed him,” Balu replied.
“Why did you betray him?” Negris asked, puzzled.
“He is fake, not the king,” said Balu.
Huh? He rebelled because the other was a fake?
According to their speculation, the original Monarch was His Majesty, who then disappeared, leaving Locke to act in his place. Could it be that Balu revolted after discovering this, betraying Locke?
If Balu betrayed Locke, then, by reversal, wouldn’t that mean Balu was extremely loyal to His Majesty?
“Is it possible that Locke didn’t kill him for that reason, and only chose to imprison him?” Durken speculated quietly.
“Hmm, it’s possible. Locke had the power to imprison him, and the power to kill him. There must have been a reason for keeping him alive,” Anthony murmured in response.
So Negris asked again, “How did you betray him, then?”
“I, I turned to the Evil God,” Balu confessed.
The Evil God? Everyone was stunned. Mention of the Evil God made them immediately think of the big cat.
“Is this the Evil God you’re talking about?” Negris signaled Ange to take out the statue of the Evil God.
Balu conveyed a flurry of baffling messages, “Of course, it’s not.”
