Chapter 1007: Chapter 576 What Body? Chapter 1007: Chapter 576 What Body? Upon seeing that black smoke, Kent let out a gasp, “No good, it’s the Giant Spirit Knight Corps. They are fiercely loyal to His Majesty and are tasked with guarding the Eye of Eternal Silence. Anyone who hasn’t been acknowledged by His Majesty, even the Undead, they will capture without mercy. They don’t recognize you, and with such a commotion, they definitely won’t let you go without a fight. Quick, quick, hide.”
“The Eye of Eternal Silence?” Negris asked, puzzled, “What’s that?”
Kent replied anxiously, “It’s the deep pit where the Empire’s headquarters is located. Outsiders call it all sorts of names, but we call it the Eye of Eternal Silence. Ah, is now the time to talk about this? Hurry up and hide, otherwise it’ll be too late. They are all Giant Spirits, and each of their Soul Strength is comparable to a Relay Spirit. Although there are only six of them, even Lord Feiti might not be able to defeat them.”
“That powerful?” Feiti said somewhat unconvinced, eager to try and asked.
“Even if you can fight them, you shouldn’t. What will we do when His Majesty comes back? Quick, quick, call Lord Anthony back,” Kent said anxiously.
Negris slapped his forehead with a tiny claw, “Are you stupid? If they don’t recognize us, don’t they recognize you? This is your territory, and Anthony is ‘your’ Priest. You are in the process of reviving the Undead Temple. Tell them not to interfere.”
“Ah?” As his head reformed, Kent was a bit stunned. How did Anthony become his Priest? That guy was much more professional at conning people than him.
Negris fumed, “I’m done with you. Now I understand why the Undead Temple couldn’t prosper. You are so stubbornly naive…even more so than me…”
“Hmph~” The people nearby heard the last line and disdainfully snorted in unison.
Negris’s face turned red, and he hurriedly said, “Anthony is now your Priest, and that woman dancing is the newly awakened Saintess. You are in the process of reviving the Undead Temple. We merchants have nothing to do with you. Just call Anthony ‘Priest’, and he’ll know how to play along. This is the Undead Temple, your territory. What should you do if someone breaks into the Undead Temple?”
“Kneel down?” Kent finally caught on, asking hesitantly.
“Can you? Then go quickly; it’s your territory after all,” Negris said, shocked. He thought it would be good enough just to stop those people, but how could Kent be even wilder than it?
With such a detailed explanation, Kent of course knew what to do. But ‘deceive’ those Giant Spirits? Those guys were fierce and only obeyed His Majesty’s orders, showing no consideration for anyone. Even as a Priest of their own Undead Temple, if they sensed something fishy, they wouldn’t hesitate to tear him to shreds.
While he hesitated, Ange gave him a look.
Dong! As if struck by thunder, Kent’s soul was shocked as he stared at Ange, sensing a divine authority.
Ange tilted his head, looking at him.
Kent felt an overwhelming pressure bearing down on him, his soul shook: This wasn’t deceit, the Undead God was right here, we were reviving the Undead Temple, we couldn’t let anyone disturb us.
Kent, as if his butt was on fire, shot up and rushed towards the approaching Giant Spirit Knights in a panic.
Anthony had already noticed those Giant Spirit Knights but was uncertain of their identity and strength, so he too hesitated. Glancing back, he saw Negris speaking urgently with Kent.
It wasn’t until Kent flew up, shouting at him, “Priest, continue the resurrection of the temple.”
Anthony immediately understood and responded with ‘respect’, “As you command, Great Priest,” then went on to dance and float towards the Holy Fire Platform.
Kent internally admitted defeat; indeed, with just one ‘Priest’, the other party knew how to cooperate. Were all these guys imbued with Soul Essence?
For some reason, Kent suddenly felt full of confidence. With the support of the Undead God behind him and the major feat of reviving the temple in his hands, what were these Giant Spirit Knights fussing about!?
As he approached, Kent sent out a soul message from afar: “Silence! We are reviving the Undead Temple, do not disturb the Undead Holy Fire!”
The forcefully advancing six clouds of black smoke hesitated for a moment and their speed slowed down. Two streams of consciousness extended from two of the smoke clouds and swept over Kent.
“Is it Kent?” one of the thoughts exclaimed in surprise.
“Yes, it’s me. Don’t recognize me?” Kent responded irritably.
Out of the six trails of black smoke, four made a turn and flew back the way they had come, leaving the remaining two to slow down. They no longer had an aggressive momentum but instead gently floated over and stopped in front of Kent.
The black smoke dissipated, condensing into two huge spiritual bodies.
Such immense spiritual bodies are a very special existence. The soul, by its nature, is a state of energy, and the larger it is, the more unstable its structure becomes.
If a flame is unstable, it is still capable of burning things, but if a Soul Fire is unstable, it cannot form consciousness, or even maintain a stable existence.
To ensure its stable existence, it must either attach itself to some material, like a Skeleton Zombie, or it must elevate the soul level, like the Soul Heart or Mourning Soul.
Those large yet stable souls are quite special, such as Relay Spirits and, like the Giant Spirits in front of him.
These Giant Spirits were roughly the same size as the Relay Spirits and their Soul Strength was also similar. It was very likely that they were some kind of mutation of the Relay Spirits. Such a spiritual body’s Soul Strength was not inferior to that of the Lord of Mourning, like Feiti.
However, Kent’s gaze didn’t fall on the Giant Spirits but on their backs, where he saw… two small spheres emerging.
Of course, when referring to Giant Spirit Knights, one doesn’t mean the Giant Spirits themselves, but rather the spiritual bodies riding on their backs. These two spiritual bodies, shaped like the Giant Spirits, were both round and plump, looking like a big round ball with a smaller one perched on top.
The small spheres looked at Kent, then at Anthony on the Holy Fire Platform, then at the Master God’s Temple which had previously collapsed but was now standing again, and asked softly, “What happened?”
Kent replied, “I told you, the temple has been resurrected. It’s finally back up after collapsing for so long. Don’t disturb my priests. It’s not easy to incite mass zeal. If it gets interrupted, I’m going to fight you.”
“Oh, even though you can’t beat us, fine, we won’t make a fuss. We’ll be quiet. Do you need any help?” the small spheres glanced at him and said indifferently. Though the tone wasn’t very polite, their actions were quite cooperative as they gently landed from the sky.
After touching down, the big spheres wrapped around the small ones and instantly condensed into two large, furry balls about the height of a person.
Seeing the Giant Spirit Knights be so agreeable surprised Kent a bit. They were usually very uncompromising, always sticking to rules, and never proactively offering help.
After pausing for a moment, Kent hesitantly said, “Say prayers?”
The two large furry balls looked at each other and responded, “Fine, prayers, and may the Undead God bless Your Majesty.”
The two large furry balls stretched upward, extending two slim legs, and began to kneel and bow toward the ground, which looked quite comical, like two furry blobs swaying back and forth.
However, with their bows, Ange felt that within the Soul Network centered around the Undead Holy Fire, two massive nodes had been added.
A continuous stream of Soul Energy flowed to the Undead Holy Fire, the flames growing higher and higher, but the temple’s resurrection seemed unable to continue beyond this point.
Actually, the temple’s structure was quite extensive. If it were built on the principle of skeletal assembly, the power of the Undead Holy Fire would be insufficient to drive such an extensive temple. The main hall stood only thanks to the backup stone pillars.
In essence, having the main hall take shape was sufficient. A celebration that let the main hall grow on its own was already a miracle to most believers, but it still felt somewhat anti-climactic, not quite perfect.
As the Master God’s Temple was resurrected and the Undead Holy Fire intensified, Ange slowly began to feel a strange sensation, and suddenly turned to Negris and asked, “Could the temple be… a body?”
“Huh? What do you mean? This is a building, what body?”
